Iain Scholnick, President & CEO
Iain has over 18 years of technical and Internet operations infrastructure experience. Recently with ERUCES a data security company as VP of Business Solutions, focusing on deploying a high volume data encryption and key management platform into the wireless, healthcare, finance, government and media markets. His career highlights include founding Livemind a wireless commerce and technology services company by securing over $12 million in equity funding through institutional investors. Iain was architect of this wireless transaction and billing settlement product platform and scaled the "Greenfield" company infrastructure and engineering operations to 75 employees as CTO and SVP of Operations. Livemind filed for some of the first patents for mobile contextual-content driven commerce.
Previous to Livemind, Iain was a member of the ClickAction Company (NASDAQ: CLAC) executive team where he grew and led a large data-on-demand Enterprise Marketing Automation (EMA) web-based platform. Prior to ClickAction he led and managed Enterprise Marketing Automation platforms for the automotive and direct marketing verticals in Canada. Iain graduated from the University of British Columbia, and has a B.A. in Social and Economic Anthropology, and an Assoc. B.A. in Computer Science in Computer Systems and a technical diploma in Digital Media Engineering.
George Tronsrue, Vice Chairman
Since 1999, George has served as co-founder, President and Manager of Jericho Fund, LLC, an investment and strategic advisory company focused on early stage companies in the wireless media, technology and software and entertainment industries. Previously, he was co-founder and an initial investor in Monet Mobile Networks and served as Chairman and CEO since its inception in late 1999 through early 2004. Monet won national and international recognition in 2002 and 2003 for being the first wireless company in the world to launch a broadband service using Qualcomm’s EVDO technology in the PCS 1.9 GHz spectrum, now nationally deployed by both Verizon Wireless and Sprint/Nextel. Prior to Monet, George was the President and Chief Operating Officer of XO Communications from 1997 - 1999. He oversaw XO’s entry into 40 domestic markets, its initial entry into broadband services, implementation of nearly $1 billion of infrastructure assets and organic revenue growth from $30 million to $300 million during eight consecutive record quarters.
Prior to his tenure at XO Communications, he was part of the founding executive management team for e.spire Communications Group. As Chief Operating Officer from 1994-1997 he planned and oversaw the $100 million build-out of its Internet data and fiber infrastructure in the company’s first 30 markets and revenue growth from $0 to $60 million. George has extensive experience on public and private corporate boards and currently serves on the board of directors for InfoSpace, Inc. (NASDAQ: INSP), as well as several private companies and charitable organizations, including the Advisory Council to the Association of Graduates of the USMA at West Point, NY. A Graduate of the US Military Academy in 1978, George served in the Army for five years as an airborne, ranger, and infantry officer.
Jeff Shear, Vice President of Engineering Operations
Jeff brings over twenty years of practical operational and engineering experience in systems and application development in the digital rights licensing management, media publishing financial and insurance industries. Jeff has combined his experience with state of the art development techniques to lead the design, development and deployment of Business-to-Business Internet, Intranet, and Extranet applications from small startup ventures to well established corporations.
He most recently was Vice President of Business Design and Operations for Corbis where he was tasked with merging operations formed from 12 acquisitions into a cohesive, top-performing corporation. Jeff worked to localize and deploy operations infrastructure in Europe and Asia, transform the business process and deliver applications that streamlined the customer relationship, content ingest, commerce, royalty, and licensing management processes. Jeff has an extensive knowledge in digital imaging and digital intellectual licensing operations and management and is currently involved in analyzing standards to attach metadata and rights data to digital intellectual property. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry from the State University of New York, Binghamton, and a M.A in Computer Science from City University of New York.
Scott Lipsitz, Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Corporate Development
Scott is an experienced entrepreneur with transactional and operational experience in industries ranging from consumer products to technology. He is a Founder, and Principal of Rainmaker Capital, LLC, a provider of corporate development and merger and acquisition services to emerging media and technology companies since 1995. Scott provides client companies with both general business and strategy consulting services, with an emphasis on business development, value creation, financial engineering and merger and acquisition activity. Lipsitz has been engaged by companies such as Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERICY), One Equity Partner’s (JP Morgan Chase), Global Crossing (NYSE:GX), among others, to provide strategic consulting, high-level business development and other services.
As a serial entrepreneur Scott has built and sold an array of companies and been working in the field of investment banking and strategic consulting for technology companies and other businesses since 1989. He is also a professional musician and fluent in Spanish. He received his B.A. in Social Sciences from the University of Michigan.
